About the Role
Local Services Manager – permanent, part‑time (21 hours per week, mainly home based with regular travel across West Sussex, including one day per week at the Horsham office).
Lead the delivery, development and quality of dementia support services across a rural county, working with volunteers, local authorities, the health board and regional partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership of contract delivery, ensuring performance, quality and compliance.
- Lead, support and develop a team of dementia advisers and volunteers, fostering an inclusive, high‑performing culture.
- Deliver coaching, guidance and performance management to enable team success.
- Collaborate with other Local Services Managers and the South East Regional Management Team for cohesive regional leadership.
- Share responsibility for monitoring quality, performance and team culture across West Sussex.
- Build relationships with local authorities, the health board and pathway partners, presenting to diverse audiences and advocating for people with dementia; respond to media interviews when required.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen services and improve outcomes for people affected by dementia.
About You
- Experience in managing or supporting service delivery in health, social care or community settings (or transferable experience from related sectors).
- Experience leading geographically dispersed, community‑based teams and managing contracts with focus on quality and safe delivery.
- Confident using IT systems and reviewing information through computerised recording systems; able to navigate virtual relationships including Teams.
- Passionate about continually improving services for people affected by dementia, committed to our values, and focused on equity and accessibility.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across a dispersed team.
- Strong organisational and relationship‑building skills, with ability to engage stakeholders and monitor performance.
- Able to travel regularly across West Sussex and maintain a strong local presence.
