Children’s Home Registered Manager (4‑bed home)

Location: Doncaster

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent

Specific Hours: 39 hours per week

Salary: Up to £64,280 (includes Ofsted and Occupancy bonuses)

Accountable to: Responsible individuals and Operational Directors

We support young people within our care to develop emotional resilience to achieve their full potential. The ethos of our homes is to foster appropriate relationships with young people and their caregivers, supporting them in the transition to adulthood.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high‑quality care in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines, integrating an equal opportunities approach and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety guidelines and that staff have adequate training.
  • Maintain accurate records for young people and staff and implement monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Provide management information, including collection and reporting of statistical data.
  • Develop and promote innovative childcare techniques and contribute to the senior team.
  • Attend, prepare for and chair internal and external meetings.
  • Take on‑call responsibilities on a rota basis, including sleep‑in shifts when needed.
  • Write concise and evaluative reports and oversee written communication.
  • Make decisions when appropriate.
  • Oversee all admissions and discharges.
  • Lead vision and innovation aligned with organisational ethos.
  • Hold relevant Diploma level 5 (or work towards it).
  • Recruit new employees, ensuring all checks are completed.
  • Induct, supervise and appraise all staff in line with policy.
  • Oversee staff professional development and mandatory training.
  • Maintain effective rota plans and complete monthly expenses.
  • Investigate grievances, complaints and disciplinary matters.
  • Monitor service budget, financial transactions and meet targets.
  • Ensure maintenance of premises and equipment.
  • Promote the organisation to external agencies and the public.
  • Liaise with commissioners and referral managers regarding admissions.
  • Attend and lead psychotherapy leadership forums.

Required Attributes

  • Enthusiasm for delivering the highest quality care and education.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
