Job Description:

Position Overview

Head Office Department – located in the heart of Piccadilly, on the 5th & 6th floors of our flagship store. The location provides easy access to Green Park Tube Station and bus stops.

Responsibilities

  • Take NPD projects and work closely with the buying team to bring a product range to market, including one‑off items for partners and specific occasions.
  • Commission and brief Designers, Agencies and In‑House Stakeholders; create design briefs that meet Fortnum & Mason requirements of Tone of Voice.
  • Ensure consistent representation of the brand across all materials, verifying design accuracy and adherence to brief.
  • Ensure packaging meets Fortnum & Mason high standards; undertake detailed checking of all artworks before printing for Tone of Voice, spelling, and artwork set‑up.
  • Collaborate with the Buying and VM teams to display products on shelf for maximum impact.
  • Deliver design brief objectives, align spend with commercial ROI and cost‑management objectives, and coordinate design briefs through the annual marketing calendar with appropriate budget control.
  • Communicate and oversee the end‑to‑end design process for in‑store retail marketing campaigns, product launches, and events in collaboration with Buying, Creative, VM, PR, Retail & Hospitality Ops.
  • Conduct regular reviews of competitor activity in product, packaging and design, and recommend improvements to support sales growth.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Online, Food Technology and International Managers to ensure timely product information for PR and other purposes.
  • Establish and maintain exemplary relationships with all key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience in design and project managing critical paths within Retail, multi‑channel environment.
  • Understanding of managing 3rd‑party contractors and/or suppliers of design services.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of design and print processes, especially critical paths to efficient service delivery.
  • Commercial acumen to ensure profitability through supply and cost management.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to persuade and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptability and resilience to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage changing priorities.
  • Experience in print, design or creative background preferred; sustainability and customer packaging strategy experience valued.
  • Financial and budget management experience desirable.
  • Authentic and passionate understanding of the Fortnum & Mason brand and values.
