We are partnered with a leading UK manufacturer to recruit an experienced PLC & Controls Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.

The Opportunity
As a PLC & Controls Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering automation projects from concept through to commissioning. Working alongside electrical, mechanical and production teams, you’ll help develop, improve and support automated manufacturing systems, ensuring production remains safe, efficient and reliable. This role offers an excellent mix of project work, hands‑on engineering, problem solving and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and improve automated control systems
- Program, modify and optimise PLCs, HMIs, drives and industrial networks
- Support robotics and cobot integration projects
- Deliver automation projects from design through commissioning
- Produce and update electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Diagnose and resolve automation and control system faults
- Ensure machinery complies with relevant safety standards
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing performance, reliability and efficiency
About You
We’re interested in engineers who have experience in industrial automation, controls or manufacturing environments. You’ll ideally have:
- HNC, HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or a related discipline
- Experience programming PLCs such as Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider or similar
- Knowledge of HMIs, variable speed drives and industrial communication networks
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and control schematics
- Experience supporting automated production equipment or manufacturing projects
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
- Good understanding of machinery safety and electrical control systems
