Precision Engineering Estimator – Leeds

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE). Hours: Full Time, Permanent.

We are recruiting a Precision Engineering Estimator for a well‑established subcontract CNC machine shop based in Leeds. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong machining background who is looking to step into or develop within a commercial estimating role.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quotations for CNC machined components
• Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications
• Liaise with customers to understand technical requirements
• Work closely with production to ensure feasibility and cost accuracy
• Source pricing from suppliers for materials and subcontract processes
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, enquiries and project data

About You

• Experience in CNC machining (milling, turning or grinding)
• Previous estimating experience or desire to move off the tools
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Understanding of materials, tolerances and machining processes
• Good communication and customer‑facing skills
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pmFriday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
