Join Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy as a Health and Safety Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and sustainability of our offshore wind farm operations off the UK (Buckie). Lead the way in creating a safer, greener future by driving Health and Safety excellence on‑site.
We are looking for a Health and Safety Specialist who will provide substantial support to our offshore wind farm service operations teams based in Buckie, and ensure appropriate health, safety and environmental arrangements are in place. The role will be responsible for collecting and reporting observations of near‑misses, accidents, incidents and deviations from agreed standards; reporting, investigating, and managing corrective actions through to closure as per Siemens Gamesa procedures and local legal requirements.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Engage with and promote the “Zero Harm” EHS Culture
- Support local engagement and alignment to overall EHS strategic objectives
- Implement the company’s health, safety & environmental management systems effectively
- Proactively monitor, identify hazards and facilitate the implementation of effective control measures
- Partner with operations management and employees to provide advice and guidance on legislation, standards, and local expectations/guidelines
- Communicate and collaborate with other EHS team members across the business to share learning and develop best practices
- Create, develop, and assist with delivery of EHS inductions and training
- Assist in the completion and regular review of risk assessments
- Ensure all accidents, incidents and near‑misses are recorded, reported, and investigated in accordance with company procedures; identify, implement, monitor, and review corrective actions
- Compile, analyze and act on EHS statistics and KPIs, sharing locally as necessary
- Maintain all relevant health, safety and environmental records (e.g., risk assessments, training records)
- Undertake any reasonable activity that assists the business in achieving EHS objectives
- Promote lesson learned and knowledge sharing with other sites across the region
What You Bring
- Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance of leading the change
- NEBOSH or equivalent level 5/6 EHS qualification preferred, or willingness to attain within a reasonable timeframe
- Previous EHS experience in an operational/engineering environment, ideally within a power service or heavily regulated industry
- Demonstrable experience providing pragmatic EHS guidance and problem‑solving ability
- Experience working in a demanding, high‑performance, team‑oriented culture
- Experience dealing with regulatory bodies
- Ability to take control of a situation and manage unplanned events
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships, managing expectations & perceptions with internal and external stakeholders
- Computer literate with mainstream software packages
- Full UK/EU driving licence
- Willingness to travel
