Travail employment group are delighted to be working with a multi award winning Manufacturing company in Sheffield, who are looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join their health and safety team on a full-time permanent basis. The company are well established within Sheffield, proud to boast a King’s award for their innovation and are a well-known manufacturer supplying into some of the biggest and well-known high‑street names.
Responsibilities
- Conducting regular health and safety audits, daily site inspections, and comprehensive risk assessments to ensure full compliance with UK legislation, company policies, and best practice.
- Leading the organisation’s journey towards ISO 45001 certification by developing, implementing, and continuously improving the health and safety management system.
- Providing health and safety leadership for the installation, relocation, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, ensuring all activities are fully risk assessed and safely managed.
- Partnering with senior management and operational teams to promote a positive safety culture, provide expert guidance on legal compliance, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement.
- Travelling to international sites in the USA, France, and Portugal annually to support health and safety standards, conduct audits, and share best practice across the business.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve health and safety processes, reducing risk, improving efficiency, and strengthening overall safety culture.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives by analysing incident data, audit findings, and employee feedback to implement preventative measures and enhance long‑term safety performance.
Qualifications
- Hold a NEBOSH Diploma (or working towards).
- Be a member of IOSH.
- Have a strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and health and safety management systems.
- Have previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practice.
- Possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
