Overview

The Housing Systems Development Team is responsible for managing the delivery of key IT projects within the Housing division. IT projects range from smaller scale improvements and development of existing systems up to larger scale projects involving the procurement and replacement of major Housing systems.

We are currently looking for a suitably experienced Project Manager to lead on the delivery of major IT projects; the role is vital to ensure that the Housing division makes best use of available technology and systems to enable effective working and to allow the authority to make financial savings.

Responsibilities

  • You will report directly to the Programme Manager who will delegate projects and provide support and guidance on their delivery.
  • You will liaise with a variety of stakeholders at all levels on a regular basis and ensure project principles are adhered to and you will be responsible for all project documentation.
  • You will implement and deliver a stakeholder management and communications plan and strategy as appropriate for each project, ensuring that key stakeholders are engaged in the right way and at the right time.
  • You will be in regular contact with the business areas and suppliers to ensure requirements are fully understood and documented and that our systems meet these requirements as fully as possible and that projects are delivered to the agreed timescales and within budget.
  • You will chair project meetings and lead system design workshops.
  • You will manage resources and have the opportunity to train staff in the use of systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience as an effective member of a multi‑discipline project team in a major organisation.
  • Knowledge of business processes and IT systems within Housing, and the ability to deliver the desired project outcomes.
  • Experience of training and delivering presentations, with the skill to engage audiences and ensure learning outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective liaison with stakeholders including senior management, suppliers, members of the public and co‑workers.
  • Familiarity with system implementation and change processes, including Requirement Specifications and User Acceptance Testing.
