This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced F&B Manager to join an esteemed countryside hotel near Carlisle, overseeing the day to day food and beverage operation across a fine dining restaurant, charming bistro and a range of bespoke events.

This role has a strong operational focus, making it ideal for someone who enjoys structure, service standards, team leadership and the smooth running of multiple areas. The service style is unique, with events that can vary from one occasion to the next, so the successful candidate will need to be adaptable, organised and confident delivering high standards across both everyday service and tailored guest experiences.

The business is looking for someone who is genuinely team focused, with the leadership energy to support, guide and develop a small team. This is not a role for someone who only wants to manage from a distance. You will need to be hands on when required, present during service and able to lead by example across restaurant, bistro and event operations.

Alongside the daily running of the department, you will support the wider business strategy, helping to improve processes, strengthen service standards and contribute to the future pathway of the venue. This is a brilliant role for an F&B Manager who wants to be part of a business with ambition, quality and a clear focus on people, progression and guest experience.

F&B Manager Ideal Profile

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team in a high quality hospitality setting
  • Strong operational background across food and beverage departments
  • Experience within fine dining, bistro service, events and wine service
  • Confident managing bespoke events where service style and guest needs can vary
  • Team focused leader who can support, motivate and develop a small team
  • Hands on approach with the ability to lead from the floor when needed
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guests, staff and suppliers
  • Commercially aware with experience managing budgets, stock, forecasting and cost control
  • Organised, professional and calm under pressure
  • Passionate about hospitality, service standards and memorable guest experiences
  • Able to support future development, progression and wider business plans

F&B Manager Responsibilities

  • Oversee all food and beverage operations within the hotel
  • Maintain high standards of quality, service and guest experience across all outlets
  • Support the operation of the Michelin star restaurant, bistro and bespoke events
  • Manage, train and develop the food and beverage team
  • Create a culture of professionalism, teamwork and respect
  • Lead from the floor during key services and support the team when needed
  • Work closely with the culinary team on menus, beverage lists and service delivery
  • Support the planning and delivery of weddings, private dining, conferences and events
  • Engage with guests, gather feedback and resolve issues professionally
  • Monitor revenue, expenditure and department performance
  • Implement cost control measures while maintaining quality and service standards
  • Contribute to operational improvements, progression plans and the future strategy of the business
