Overview
Job title: Project Manager.Location: UK (Global Flexible). At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As a Project Manager, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history, using advanced metals chemistry to tackle the world’s biggest challenges – cutting emissions, powering modern life and supporting life‑saving technologies – by applying, refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier, more sustainable, circular future.
Role
- Leading the planning and delivery of business and IT-enabled projects, ensuring alignment to scope, timelines, budget and quality expectations.
- Developing clear, structured project plans, including milestones, dependencies, resources and deliverables in line with governance standards.
- Establishing and managing project governance, including stage gates, RAID management and change control.
- Coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to manage dependencies and enable smooth delivery.
- Monitoring progress, managing risks and issues, and ensuring timely escalation and mitigation of blockers.
- Providing clear and concise reporting to sponsors and governance forums to support informed decision‑making.
Key Skills
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end business and technology projects in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Strong understanding of structured project delivery frameworks and methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall or hybrid approaches.
- Ability to translate business requirements into detailed, actionable project plans aligned with technical delivery.
- Effective stakeholder management with the ability to influence and communicate clearly at all levels.
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Experience using project planning and delivery tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira or Azure DevOps.
