An opportunity to work on our MOD project in Plymouth, delivering major redevelopment works over the coming years.

PAYE basis

£350 – £430 per day depending on experience/qualificationsPaid Holidays: 30 days per year (including bank holidays)

Must Have

  • Professionally qualified operator and/or Graduate Qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC, BSc, MSc or equivalent).
  • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction/civils/infrastructure projects.
  • Fully conversant and experienced with NEC Contracts.
  • CSCS White PQP/AQP Card.
  • Experience with subcontractor management, valuations and payments.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing monthly cost reports and forecasts.
  • Commercially aware with strong contractual knowledge.
  • Experience monitoring budgets and forecasting project spend.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Experience managing change control procedures and commercial risks.
  • Confident IT skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
  • Experience using Coins/Causeway accounting systems preferred.
  • Experience with CEMAR desirable but not essential.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work within a highly skilled and diverse team environment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Professional Accreditation such as RICS/ICE desirable.
  • Must be eligible for BPSS Security Clearance.
  • Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

This role is site based – Monday to Friday45 hours per week 08:00am – 17:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial and contractual support to the management and delivery teams
  • Prepare financial and contractual performance forecasts
  • Ensure business targets and KPI s are achieved or exceeded
  • Monitor and maximise project cash flow ensuring payments are made and received on time
  • Prepare and review monthly cost reports and monitor project trends
  • Forecast and monitor spend against approved client budgets
  • Carry out measurement of works and agreement with clients and subcontractors
  • Manage subcontractor accounts including certification, valuation and payment processes
  • Manage subcontractor enquiries, negotiations, procurement and final account agreements
  • Implement and maintain contract change control procedures
  • Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with company commercial procedures and standards
  • Support the successful delivery of major infrastructure and defence projects
