Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Business Administrator to join our team based at our Tarmac ‘Hub’ in Colchester near to Essex. This is a great opportunity to join our team and work alongside the commercial and distribution teams assisting with sales and distribution administration. Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the commercial and distribution teams with sales and distribution administration.
  • Use auditable processes to ensure customers are invoiced accurately and on time.
  • Provide professional support to the Regional Business with administrative tasks and systems work.
  • Resolve blocked tickets to reduce delays in billing and maintain efficient operations.
  • Manually check and process each ticket received and act according to SLA.
  • Investigate and resolve queries from the business.
  • Resolve missing ticket issues, manual invoicing, and EDI errors.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures.
  • Complete merchanting processing and reconciliation timely.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Tarmac standards and policies and can be audited.

Ideal Candidate

  • Prior experience in a similar role.
  • Highly motivated with a passion to drive improvement.
  • Strong prioritisation skills and comfort in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High levels of accuracy and sound IT skills, including working knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to understand customer needs.
  • Ability to influence and persuade others.
  • Planning, organising and verbal reasoning skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills to deal with internal and external challenges.
  • Professional manner when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to actively support and appropriately challenge other members of the functional management team.
  • Proven effective team‑player ability.
