Safeguarding and pupil wellbeing are central to all aspects of school life. n Role Purpose n Hendon Prep is seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school. This is a varied and rewarding role working with children from Preschool through to Year 6. n Key Responsibilities include: n n Support pupils within lessons to access learning and make progress n Reinforce teaching delivered by the class teacher n Promote pupils’ confidence, independence and positive attitudes to learning n Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt provision as required n Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment n n The Successful Candidate will bring: n Qualifications n n GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics — essential n Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification — desirable n SEND-related training — desirable n n Experience n n Experience of working with primary-aged children (EYFS and/or KS1/KS2) — essential n Experience supporting pupils with SEND — desirable n Experience in a school or educational setting (mainstream or specialist) — desirable n n Knowledge and Skills n n Sound understanding of the primary curriculum n Ability to support pupils with a range of learning needs n Ability to promote independence and engagement in learning n Strong interpersonal and communication skills n Ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff n Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively n n Hendon Preparatory School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
