Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate professional to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the Local Authority. In this rewarding role you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality statutory assessments and developing impactful Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) that truly make a difference.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain EHCPs across the Local Authority for children with SEND.
- Maintain a caseload of children with EHCPs and attend annual reviews to amend plans as required.
- Liaise with providers of childcare, education or vocational provision to source appropriate placements for children and young people with EHCP.

- Highly organised and compassionate, with a strong commitment to supporting children and young people with SEND.
- Good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with families, schools, and professionals.
- Empathetic and solution-focused, with the ability to manage sensitive conversations effectively.
- Able to manage a varied caseload, prioritise workload, and meet statutory deadlines.
- Understanding of person‑centred approaches and co‑production.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
