Overview of the job

This is an administrative role within the Probation Service, supporting probation staff to work with offenders and help keep the public safe.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure all processes run efficiently and systems are maintained properly.
  • Collate and prepare probation information for case files.
  • Use strong communication skills to handle enquiries from colleagues, agencies and people on probation in a busy environment.

Salary and progression

Starting salary £24,645. The role is within the advertised pay band and is subject to annual progression through a Competency Based Framework (CBF).

Eligibility and right to work

You must have the right to work in the UK. The role is not eligible for a new Skilled Worker visa from 22 July 2025; applicants must have held a Skilled Worker visa prior to changes or seek alternative routes.
