About the Post
We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join the Preparation for Adulthood Team in Barnsley. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of The Care Act 2014, The Children Act 1989, The Mental Capacity Act legislation as well as sound understanding in Human Rights. You will have strong social work values that lead your practice in helping young people to achieve the best outcomes possible. Alongside this you will play a significant role in working with a team of Social Care Practitioners to deliver outstanding assessment and support planning skills that span both Children’s and Adult’s services and legislation. You will also apply strengths‑based interactions within direct work to develop confidence and skills to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for the future.
Responsibilities
- Deliver assessment and support planning across both Children’s and Adult’s services.
- Apply strengths‑based interactions to build confidence and skills with young people.
- Work with individuals aged 14‑25 in a variety of settings to maximise their independence and life opportunities.
- Develop and embed the PFA model within the new team.
Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of The Care Act 2014, The Children Act 1989, The Mental Capacity Act and Human Rights legislation.
- Strong social work values and a person‑centred, strengths‑based approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively under the guidance of the Team Manager.
- Experience or passion for working with young people with varied needs.
