Shifts: 3 shifts per week | 09:00 – 17:30 | Monday to Sunday (No weekends or bank holidays required)

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you’ll provide practical help with daily tasks, offer emotional encouragement, and promote social inclusion, enabling people to lead fulfilling lives at home and in the community.

For this specific role, you will be supporting a vibrant woman in her early 40s living in her family home who requires companion‑led care following a brain tumour history, resulting in cognitive impairment and short‑term memory loss. She is active, creative, and looking for a female support worker who treats her with respect as an adult, acts as a companion, and shares similar interests. She enjoys the gym, swimming, movies, reading, arts and crafts, and eating out.

Weekly Pay – PAYE or Umbrella

Holiday Pay (PAYE)

Ongoing support from our Nurse Care Manager and Registered Manager

Free clinical and theory training from experienced nurses

Refer a Friend scheme (T&Cs apply)

Key Responsibilities

Companion‑Led Support: Build a positive, adult‑to‑adult relationship, accompanying the client to the gym, swimming, and eating out.

Daily Living Support: Assist with cooking family meals, arts and crafts, and keeping active.

Cognitive & Emotional Support: Provide gentle, empathetic support regarding short‑term memory lapses and depression with sensitivity and discretion.

Safety & Supervision: Accompany the client on daily walks (approx. 1 hour) for health and weight loss, ensuring careful supervision and reminders near roadsides due to potential gait/balance issues.

Health Monitoring: Maintain an awareness of her health history, including diet‑controlled Type 2 diabetes and ongoing medical treatments (such as TrueBeam radiotherapy).

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and report any concerns to the care team while respecting the individual’s independence.

Key Requirements

Driver Status: Must be a driver with a valid license to attend shifts (not essential) – you will not be required to drive the client’s vehicle.

Gender: Female applicants only (Genuine Occupational Requirement).

Experience: Minimum 6 months of professional care experience (experience with brain injury, cognitive impairment, or depression is highly beneficial).

Right to Work: Right to work in the UK.

DBS: Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Work History: Up‑to‑date CV with full work history.
