Overview
We’re currently recruiting for a Production Support Operative with mechanical assembly skills and material handling experience to join a well‑established engineering business in Telford. This role supports machine fitters and wirer’s and offers a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on individual to develop skills in a varied and well‑organised environment. Hours
Working days with a lunchtime finish on Friday.
Salary
£29,000 – £31,000.
Role
You will support production, engineering and logistics teams with a mix of practical and administrative tasks, including:
- Forklift driving
- Mechanical assembly, packing, and preparation of parts and machinery
- Quality checking of high‑value equipment
- Supporting engineers on the shop floor
- Completing documentation and admin tasks
- General workshop duties and housekeeping
What we’re looking for
- Experience in a hands‑on or manufacturing role
- Confidence using hand tools (spanners, drills, etc.)
- Basic IT skills (Excel, Word)
- Forklift licence (advantageous)
- Basic electrical knowledge
Current or recent experience as a mechanical assembler, production support or production technician in a technology or engineering environment is required, as well as experience in material handling or stores, electrical assembly, and panel wiring.
