Bank Support Worker (Children’s & Mental Health Services)

Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality, person‑centred support that empowers children, young people, and adults to live safer, healthier, and more independent lives.
  • Provide compassionate, person‑centred care tailored to each individual’s needs.
  • Support children, young people, and supported living services, respite and within the community.
  • Encourage independence by developing life skills, building confidence, promoting resilience, and supporting personal goals.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships where people feel safe, respected, valued, and heard.
  • Provide emotional support, reassurance, and encouragement while promoting dignity, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.
  • Support everyday routines including education, appointments, meal preparation, budgeting, shopping and daily living activities.
  • Encourage participation in meaningful activities, hobbies, community events, education, volunteering, and social opportunities that promote wellbeing and inclusion.
  • Support individuals through challenging situations using calm, positive, and therapeutic approaches.
  • Maintain accurate records and report concerns professionally while following safeguarding procedures.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, dignity, inclusion, and the rights of every individual at all times.
  • Be the calm, reliable presence that helps someone feel supported when they need it most.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Caring, patient, and passionate about supporting children, young people, and adults.
  • Flexible and confident working across a variety of care settings.
  • Calm under pressure and able to build positive, professional relationships.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and committed to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred support.
  • Great communicator who listens with empathy and treats everyone with dignity and respect.
  • Previous experience in children’s services, mental health, supported living, or social care is welcomed, but values and attitude matter.
