Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £28,091.70 per annum
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
Be the person who changes a child’s story.
Every child deserves to feel safe, valued and supported. As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll become a positive role model for children and young people with autism and additional needs, helping them build confidence, develop life skills and enjoy the childhood they deserve.
No two days are ever the same. One day you could be helping with homework, teaching independent living skills or cooking together, and the next you could be supporting a trip out, encouraging a new hobby or simply being there to celebrate the small wins that make a huge difference.
This is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to have a genuine impact on a young person’s life every single day.
The Role
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will:
- Provide high-quality care and emotional support within a warm, welcoming home.
- Build trusting relationships with children and young people, helping them feel safe and understood.
- Support daily routines, personal development and independent living skills.
- Plan and take part in fun activities, outings and experiences that help children thrive.
- Encourage positive behaviour through patience, consistency and understanding.
- Work closely with colleagues, families and other professionals to provide the very best care.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning to ensure every child receives individualised support.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for caring, resilient and enthusiastic people who genuinely want to make a difference.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals (residential, education, care or similar).
- A calm, patient and compassionate approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential.
- A willingness to learn and develop through ongoing training.
Essential Requirements
- A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle (due to the location of the home and transporting young people to activities and appointments).
- The right to work in the UK.
- Please note: We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
- An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
What You’ll Receive
- Competitive salary of £28,091.70 per annum.
- Full training and ongoing professional development.
- A supportive and welcoming team environment.
- The opportunity to build a rewarding long-term career in children’s residential care.
- The chance to positively influence the lives of children and young people every day.
If you’re looking for a career where your compassion, resilience and personality matter just as much as your experience, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply today and start making a lasting difference.
