JARK Stevenage are looking for a YARD MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE FOR FOOD ENVIROMENT to join a team in a fast‑paced chilled meat production company.
Monday to Friday – 06:00am till 14:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Yard Maintenance — Keep the yard, skips, compactors, and surrounding areas clean, organised, and free from hazards. Includes waste removal and general housekeeping.
- Waste Handling — Sort waste from production areas, manage recycling streams, and ensure correct use of compactors and skips.
- Vehicle Loading & Unloading — Safely load/unload vehicles, including pallets, raw materials, packaging, and chemicals. Follow SOPs and site traffic rules.
- Forklift Operation — Operate FLT or other yard vehicles (training may be provided). Complete pre‑start checks and report defects.
- Chemical Handling — Safely unload, decant, and transport chemicals in line with all chemical safety rules.
- Safety Compliance — Complete daily safety checks, follow GMP and SOPs, and halt/report unsafe practices.
- Support to Other Departments — Work with hygiene, logistics, and production teams to ensure smooth operations.
Additional Requirements
- Own transport preferred due to location and shift patterns.
- Flexible and willing to learn.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
