Overview
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards. This role involves supervising a team of warehouse operatives, coordinating workflow, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of warehouse operatives, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Coordinate daily tasks, including goods‑in, goods‑out, picking, packing, replenishment, and stock movements.
- Monitor productivity and ensure targets, KPIs, and service levels are consistently met.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety procedures, including correct use of PPE and safe working practices.
- Train and develop team members, including onboarding new staff and upskilling existing colleagues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, investigate discrepancies, and support regular stock counts.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet trucks) where required and ensure equipment is used safely.
- Communicate effectively with other departments such as transport, planning, and customer service.
- Support continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Handle issues proactively, including staffing challenges, workflow bottlenecks, and operational problems.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse processes, stock control, and operational workflows.
- Excellent communication and people‑management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good IT skills, including experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving ability.
- Forklift licence (desirable but not always essential).

- Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:15
- Friday: 07:30 – 13:30
