Hours

• Full time – 37.5 hours per week
• Part time – 34.5 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Assist in the provision of care to women and their babies during antenatal, delivery and postnatal periods.
• Support the delivery of safe, high‑quality care for all patients within a multidisciplinary team, undertaking delegated limited clinical care duties under the direction of a registered midwife.

Qualifications and Skills

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) or willingness to undertake Level 2 functional skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with staff, patients, relatives and the general public.
• Understanding of the needs of women in health care.
• Previous experience of working with the public.
• Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
• Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.

Eligibility Criteria

• Be 18 years old or over.
• Have the right to work in the UK with a visa covering the duration of the apprenticeship.
• Have been ordinarily resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
• Applicants with lived experience of the care system are welcome.
• Completion of the Level 3 Senior Health Care Support Worker (maternity pathway) apprenticeship is required; a healthcare qualification at Level 3 or above disqualifies applicants.
