Join the progressive team of Learner Journey Coordinators at National Star on the outskirts of Cheltenham. We have full‑time and part‑time (maternity contract) roles available.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and be responsible for high‑quality and stimulating learning programmes for students with a range of physical and learning disabilities, working towards their personalised EHCP outcomes. Learners progress from pre‑entry to Level 1 accreditation, focusing on achievable and realistic learning targets across the curriculum and recognising progress through the RARPA framework.
Engage in multi‑disciplinary work, liaising with internal colleagues, external professionals and students’ families, monitoring, recording and optimising learners’ progress.
Qualifications and Experience
Previous teaching experience ideally in a Special Education Needs (SEN) environment, working with people who have complex learning difficulties and disabilities such as ASC, profound and multiple learning difficulties or severe learning difficulties.
Excellent communication, creativity, proactivity, forward‑thinking attitude and strong organisational skills.
Applicants should hold a PGCE / Level 5 teaching Diploma or have a good background in supporting learning in an SEN environment, ideally with a Level 3 certificate in Education and willing to enrol in and complete a Level 5 teaching qualification within two years. If you do not yet hold your full qualification, the salary will be adjusted to a lower rate accordingly.
Salary and Benefits
Full‑time salary for a qualified teacher in this role will be between £32,505 and £39,017, depending on experience. The role is permanent; part‑time positions (maternity contract) are also available.
