Job Title: Second Chef
Location: Castle Dene, Throop Road, Bournemouth, BH8 0BD
Pay: Up to £14.50 per hour
Hours: 40 hours across a 4 day working week
Shifts: To be agreed at interview with Home Manager (include alternate weekend working)
Responsibilities
- Creating, preparing and cooking nutritious meals for residents, ensuring quality & presentation is always to a high standard.
- Planning meals/menus, consulting with residents and care staff to ensure individual dietary needs and preferences are catered for.
- Supervising and supporting the kitchen team alongside Head Chef.
- Ensuring all health & safety and other relevant legislation is adhered to.
- Covering for the Head Chef when necessary: ordering, checking in and controlling supplies.
Qualifications
- Certificate in NVQ Level 2 Food Production/Hygiene or willingness to undertake one.
- Strong organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience working in a kitchen producing attractive high-quality meals in high volumes.
- Understanding of health and safety and other current relevant legislation.
- Confidence to take the lead when needed and be a team player.
