Year 6 SEND Teaching Assistant
Milk Education is partnering with a well-regarded primary school in Hindley Green (WN2) to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting immediately and will be ongoing role until July 2026.This SEND Teaching Assistant position involves working in Year 6, supporting two SEND pupils with a variety of additional needs on a one-to-one basis. You will support one child in the morning and another child in the afternoon.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for two Year 6 children with additional needs
- Supporting children with ASD, ADHD and Complex Needs
- Keep the child engaged and on task throughout the school day
- Prepare daily resources and support learning activities
- Foster a positive, nurturing learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism and Complex Needs
- Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to supporting the child’s academic and emotional development
