Hebrew Speaking Teaching Assistant

Daily Rate: £108.68‑£115 per day

Long Term Futures is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Hebrew Speaking Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Jewish primary school in the London Borough of Hackney. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate education professional who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development within a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
Working closely with class teachers and SEN staff, you will play a key role in supporting pupils across the classroom, delivering targeted interventions, and assisting children who require additional academic, language, or pastoral support. Hebrew is an important part of the school’s curriculum and community, and the successful candidate will use their language skills to support pupils in lessons, assist with Hebrew language learning, and contribute positively to the school’s ethos and wider community.
Key Duties
- Supporting pupils across the primary age range with their learning and development.
- Providing Hebrew language support within the classroom and during intervention sessions.
- Assisting pupils with Hebrew reading, writing, and communication where appropriate.
- Supporting the delivery of Hebrew language learning and Jewish Studies curriculum activities.
- Delivering targeted interventions to individuals and small groups.
- Assisting class teachers with the preparation and delivery of engaging learning activities.
- Supporting pupils with SEND, EAL needs, or additional barriers to learning.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting engagement in lessons.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff within the school community.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff, and parents.
- Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Classroom Assistant, Learning Mentor, or similar role within a school setting.
- Fluent spoken Hebrew and strong communication skills in both Hebrew and English.
- Experience supporting children within a primary school environment is desirable.
- The ability to support and positively contribute to the values, traditions, and ethos of a Jewish school community.
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for education and supporting children’s development.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND or EAL needs is advantageous.
- An Enhanced DBS registered (Child Workforce) on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
