Job Description:

Make a difference every day as an SEN Teaching Assistant, supporting children and young adults with Autism and complex needs to learn, grow, and thrive in a nurturing, inclusive school in Tameside.

SEN Teaching Assistant (full-time, temporary)

Tameside

£463 – £500 per week PAYE (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)

Start date: September 2026

The School and Role

You’ll work alongside a passionate, experienced team in modern, purpose‑built facilities based in Tameside, that provide the ideal environment for SEN professionals to grow and make a positive impact to the lives of children with SEND.

This is a term‑time only role with strong potential to become permanent following a successful qualifying period, alongside access to ongoing training and professional development. This role is ideal for candidates seeking meaningful SEN experience and long‑term opportunities within special education.

Requirements

  • Have previous experience supporting children or young people or vulnerable adults
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEN, including Autism, learning disabilities, sensory impairments or complex needs
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with pupils, staff and families
  • Show emotional resilience and adaptability, remaining patient and positive in a fast‑paced, sometimes challenging environment
  • Be reliable, proactive and committed to making a positive impact in a specialist education setting.
