Job Summary
A Food Technology & Independent Living Skills Instructor is required to deliver practical Food Technology and life skills lessons within a specialist SEND school in Walsall. This long-term opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for candidates from catering, hospitality, education or vocational training backgrounds.
The School and Role
Mary Elliot Academy is a specialist SEND school supporting learners aged 11-18 with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and autism. The school is seeking a Food Technology & Independent Living Skills Instructor to deliver engaging practical lessons that help pupils develop cooking, nutrition and everyday living skills. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will encourage independence and prepare learners for adulthood. This is a long-term role with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
Requirements
- Experience delivering Food Technology or practical learning
- Background in catering, hospitality or vocational education desirable
- Confidence leading practical lessons
- Strong communication skills
- A passion for supporting young people with SEND
