Electrical Commissioning Technician (BBBH28551) Stewartby, England

Astute’s Power Team are currently recruiting for an Electrical Commissioning Technician to join the commissioning team for their OCGT plant based in Stewartby, Bedfordshire on an initial 4‑month contract basis.

The Electrical Commissioning Technician position comes with a day rate from £400.00 to £475.00 outside IR35.

Responsibilities and Key Skills

• Hands‑on commissioning of electrical components and systems such as transformers, medium/low voltage switchgears, DC systems, rectifiers, inverters, motorised valves, instruments, etc. Fully competent at using primary and secondary injection test set equipment.
• Assist the commissioning engineers in carrying out testing on electrical systems and equipment, as well as system optimisation and troubleshooting and filling in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols.
• Participation in the walk‑downs for turnover from construction to commissioning, identifying open items that prevent system start‑up.
• Preparation of the site for the electrical team to plan ahead for site works.
• Report to the Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer for this project.
• At least 7 years working experience in power stations electrical (MV/LV and I&C) commissioning activities with demonstrable experience in a leading role in projects of similar relevance as an electrical technician.
• Strong team spirit, working with an international team and other cultures.

Location, Day Rate and Timeframe

• £400.00 – £475.00 per day (Outside IR35)
• 4 months
