Are you a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding part-time role in Blackburn?
We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Blackburn from September. This role will involve supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs across EYFS and Key Stage 1, alongside providing lunchtime supervision and support.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with additional needs.
- Support teaching and learning across EYFS and Key Stage 1.
- Assist in implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
- Promote pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
- Support children with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO, and wider school staff.
- Supervise and support pupils during lunchtime, encouraging positive social interactions and behaviour.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school or educational setting.
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
