Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND
Location: Silverdale Primary Academy, Newcastle‑Under‑Lyme, ST5 6PBBasis: Part time, 17.5 hours per week, Fixed Term one year (term time only)Salary: Pro‑rata £10,599
The role involves working alongside the teacher to support pupils with SEND in Key Stage One, under the direction of the SENCO and class teacher, providing high quality learning experiences both indoors and outdoors. The role requires a Level 3 qualification, experience of working in a school with pupils with SEND, and a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable learners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils with SEND in KS1.
- Working within a supportive environment and curriculum tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborating with teachers and the SENCO to implement strategies.
- Providing consistent support and monitoring progress.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Level 3 qualification.
- Previous experience working in a school with pupils with SEND.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Acceptance of an enhanced DBS check.
