Fancy joining the UK’s number one Wine Specialist?

Majestic Wine Wolverhampton are looking for a dynamic, ambitious and driven individual who wants to grow and develop in a company that’s revolutionising retail!

Who are we?

Majestic Wine Group is the UK’s largest end-to-end wines and spirits specialist, operating across retail, on-trade and hospitality through four brands: Majestic Retail, Majestic Commercial, Enotria and Vagabond. Founded in 1980 and backed by Fortress Investment Group, the business has undergone rapid growth through transformation and acquisitions, formally becoming Majestic Wine Group in 2025. With over 200 retail stores, a nationwide on-trade supply network and a growing wine bar estate, Majestic is focused on curating a high-quality, differentiated product range, delivering expert service and expanding its physical and digital footprint across the UK.

The Role

As a Sales Assistant you’ll be supporting your store team with driving sales performance and the day‑day running of your store. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service and experience to optimise KPI performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting your team to meet and exceed targets through focusing on KPI delivery.
  • Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty & repeat purchases.
  • Offer a VIP concierge service, actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
  • Sell the story, not the discount, and share your passion for product through an in‑depth knowledge of our range.
  • Take ownership for your wine knowledge, consistently learning about our products to support your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
  • Maintain pride and accountability for the physical appearance and maintenance of the store, both internally and externally.
  • Participate in all operational tasks required for the day‑day operation of a Majestic Wine store – from delivering wine to customers, merchandising stock deliveries, to contacting customers to drive sales opportunities.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve operations, feeding ideas back to your wider team for shared implementation.
  • Ensure full compliance, safety, and legality by following internal policies, processes, and completing mandatory training.
  • Be a role model for Majestic’s Ways of Working and a source of support for more junior team members, providing feedback to the Store Manager as appropriate.
  • As a key holder, understand opening and closing compliance and be confident to operate the store independently.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Excellent time‑management, delegation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service to every customer.
  • Self‑motivated, able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
  • A can‑do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
  • Adaptable and resilient to meet the ever‑changing demands of our business.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Wine knowledge is beneficial but passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 WSET wine qualifications.
  • Hold a full UK manual transmission driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

What is in it for you:

  • Up to 20% staff discount.
  • Career development opportunities – we nurture internal talent with excellent in‑house training schemes.
  • Uniform provided.
  • Access to Retail Trust – includes retail rewards, instant savings with discounted e‑vouchers, discounted reloadable shopping cards, gift vouchers and gift cards, discounts of up to 30%, and access to free counselling and support phone line.
  • Company sick pay scheme.

Job Specifics:

  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Driving is essential; a full UK manual driver’s licence (min. 12 months) is required.
  • Salary: £26,436.80
