The Role
As an Electrical Engineer you will work as part of the Maintenance team to test, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical related equipment in the factory. You will be responsible for the maintenance of all factory equipment. Duties range from ensuring that maintenance targets and quality parameters are met, carrying out machinery checks, to effectively liaising with the Maintenance Manager and advising of all machinery breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and service all equipment in area of responsibility.
- Assist in maintenance in areas out of personal remit.
- Maintain production machinery to ensure operations are running efficiently and effectively through periodic maintenance checks.
- Ensure breakdowns are attended immediately, and that machinery is repaired effectively to allow production to continue.
- Minimize breakdowns through preventative maintenance and control procedures.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications and schematics in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment.
- Fault diagnosis and monitoring the performance of equipment after repairs have been carried out.
About you:
Essential
- Electrical/Engineering NVQ level 3 at a minimum
- 2 years experience as an electrical engineer within a factory environment.
- 18th edition standard.
- An in-depth knowledge of mechanical (pneumatics, welding and hydraulics) and electrical activities.
Desirable
- Experience of working in a food processing / factory environment
