We’re looking for a proactive and analytical Project Operations Coordinator to join our UK Project Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting project delivery across our engineering teams, helping to drive operational excellence, improve commercial performance and enable better business decisions.
About The Role
Working closely with the Project Operations Manager and collaborating with teams across Finance, Legal, Governance, Business Development and Engineering, you’ll help ensure projects are delivered efficiently, risks are managed effectively, and our teams have the information and tools they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the effective delivery of operational processes across engineering teams, ensuring consistency and best practice.
- Build strong relationships with project teams, Discipline Directors and key business stakeholders.
- Become a trusted super‑user of Buro Happold’s project‑management tools and business systems, providing guidance and support to colleagues.
- Champion the adoption of project‑management tools and operational standards across the business.
- Assist with monitoring commercial performance through reporting and analysis of ERP data, helping inform business decisions.
- Support the Project Operations Manager with resource reviews, portfolio reviews and Project Director check‑ins, coordinating actions and tracking progress.
- Act as a first point of contact for day‑to‑day operational queries, working with stakeholders to resolve issues and escalating where appropriate.
- Review project portfolios to support Job Leaders in the successful management of their projects.
- Produce and review reports to maintain high standards of data quality and project information accuracy.
- Identify operational risks and support continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance business resilience and efficiency.
- Prioritise your workload effectively while adapting to changing business needs in a fast‑paced project environment.
About You
- Degree, relevant qualification or equivalent experience in Business Management, Finance, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Experience in a business‑support or project‑coordination role, ideally within a professional services environment.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data, reporting tools and business systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative approach, with a willingness to learn, share knowledge and contribute positively to team success.
- A proactive mindset, taking ownership of tasks, identifying opportunities for improvement and helping solve problems.
- Confidence working with ERP systems or similar business platforms, with an eye for detail and data accuracy.
- Resilience, adaptability and a continuous‑improvement mindset, with a genuine interest in developing new skills and supporting operational excellence.
