Position Overview

Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday. As a Project Specialist within the Finance Transformation team, you will play a key role in delivering meaningful changes across Finance, helping to shape new processes, improve ways of working, and ensure projects are delivered successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the delivery of multiple small to medium‑size Finance change projects, ensuring smooth implementation and successful outcomes.
  • Partner with Finance Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assess impacts across people, processes, and systems.
  • Establish and coordinate Finance working groups to ensure all key stakeholders are engaged and aligned.
  • Create, maintain, and track project plans, ensuring Finance requirements are delivered alongside wider programme timelines.
  • Provide clear reporting, project updates, and insight, including capacity planning, risk management, and issue tracking.
  • Coordinate key project documentation and support the gathering and management of Finance business requirements.
  • Help develop and execute Finance testing plans, ensuring solutions meet business needs before launch.
  • Facilitate Finance go/no‑go decision‑making and support seamless handovers into business‑as‑usual teams.
  • Contribute to wider PMO, governance, and demand management activities within the Finance Delivery Hub.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the way the team operates.

Qualifications

  • Experience working within a project delivery, PMO, business change, or transformation environment.
  • Strong project management knowledge with exposure to Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders and building effective relationships across teams.
  • A proactive, self‑motivated approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • High attention to detail combined with the ability to maintain momentum and deliver results.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Project.
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment where change is constant.
  • Experience working with Finance teams or Finance transformation initiatives would be beneficial, but is not essential.
  • Exposure to project, change, or continuous improvement frameworks such as PRINCE2, AgilePM, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Design Thinking, or Change Management would be advantageous.
