About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Secretary to lead and coordinate the administrative function across its growing private healthcare services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and proactive individual to manage a team of Patient Pathway Coordinators, ensuring the smooth delivery of patient booking, pathway management, and administrative processes for both self-pay and insured patients. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving service excellence, supporting operational performance, and enhancing the patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

- n
- nLead, supervise, and support a team of Patient Pathway Coordinatorsn
- nManage administrative workloads and ensure appropriate service covern
- nMonitor referrals, inboxes, clinic activity, and booking performancen
- nBuild and manage clinic rotas across private servicesn
- nAct as the first point of contact for B2B partners and external agenciesn
- nCoordinate patient journeys from referral through to treatment and follow-upn
- nSupport patient bookings, payments, investigations, results, and correspondencen
- nMonitor key systems including Semble, IRIS, and Apollo Radiologyn
- nHandle patient queries, concerns, and complaints professionally and efficientlyn
- nLead staff induction, training, appraisals, and performance managementn
- nWork collaboratively with clinical, operational, IT, finance, and support teamsn

What We’re Looking For

Essential

- nPrevious experience in a senior medical secretary, healthcare administration, or team leader rolen
- nStrong understanding of private healthcare administrative processesn
- nExperience managing patient pathways and clinic bookingsn
- nExcellent organisational and workload management skillsn
- nStrong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with patients, clinicians, and external stakeholdersn
- nExperience using Microsoft Office applicationsn
- nKnowledge of healthcare confidentiality and data protection requirementsn
- nAbility to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environmentn
