About the Role

n

We are working with Northampton General Hospital to recruit a Band 5 Specialist Pharmacy or Science Manufacturing Technician to join their Aseptic Services Unit (ASU).

n

This is a key role within a highly specialised pharmacy service, supporting the preparation and supply of aseptically prepared intravenous medicines, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.

Key Responsibilities

n

    n

  • nSupport the preparation and dispensing of aseptic medicines (patient-specific and batch production)n
  • n

  • nUndertake final checking and release of aseptically prepared products (once competent)n
  • n

  • nWork within cleanroom and isolator environments, following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)n
  • n

  • nCoordinate day-to-day workload within the Aseptic Unit to ensure timely delivery of treatmentsn
  • n

  • nSupport cost improvement initiatives, data analysis, and reporting of key performance metricsn
  • n

  • nManage charging processes for external customers and resolve invoice queriesn
  • n

  • nContribute to quality systems, audits, and service improvement initiativesn
  • n

  • nSupport training and supervision of junior staff where requiredn

This role combines technical aseptic services work with administrative and analytical responsibilities, offering a varied and rewarding position.

Essential Requirements

n

    n

  • nQualified Pharmacy Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent),n
  • n

  • nor Science Manufacturing Technician qualification,n
  • n

  • nor relevant degree in pharmaceutical science or related fieldn
  • n

  • nProfessional registration with GPhC, Science Council or RPSn
  • n

  • nKnowledge and experience of aseptic preparation and GMPn
  • n

  • nStrong attention to detail and accuracyn
  • n

  • nGood communication, organisation, and IT skillsn

  • nExperience in hospital aseptic servicesn
  • n

  • nExperience in final checking and releasing productsn
  • n

  • nExperience with quality systems, audits, or CAPA processesn
