The Role

As our HR Officer, you will be the heartbeat of our daily HR operations. You will act as a trusted advisor to our employees, streamline our administrative processes, and help us attract and retain top talent. This is a brilliant opportunity for a proactive HR professional looking to make a tangible impact on employee experience and organisational growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advisory & Employee Relations

  • Point of Contact: Provide advice and guidance to both employees and line managers on HR policies, procedures, compliance, and employment legislation.
  • Employee Relations:Serve as the go-to contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and workplace wellness; assist in resolving grievances with empathy and fairness.

2. Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding

  • End-to-End Recruitment: Manage the entire hiring process from drafting job descriptions and sourcing to interviewing and onboarding.
  • Stakeholder & Agency Management: Oversee relationships with recruitment agencies and external partners.
  • Brand Ambassador: Act as a “FAST ambassador” by managing outreach programs with schools, government agencies, and industry partners to promote the company as an employer of choice.

3. Talent Development & Culture

  • FAST Academy & Early Careers: Support apprenticeships, internships, graduate programs, training plan and employee development plans
  • Performance & Training: Manage the performance review cycle (including probations), identify skills gaps, and coordinate training plans.
  • Company Culture: Lead the We are FAST team to drive employee engagement initiatives.

4. HR Administration, Payroll & Reporting

  • Documentation: Prepare employment contracts, HR correspondence, and maintain accurate electronic personnel files.
  • Data & Payroll Support: Compile HR metrics and reports for senior management and provide accurate data entry to support payroll processing.
  • Benefits & Offboarding: Administer employee benefits programs (including cost reviews) and conduct exit interviews to analyse turnover trends.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • 3rd Level qualification in a relevant discipline with at least three years’ HR Generalist experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment legislation, and best practice.
  • Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and collaborative, with experience leading HR initiatives and supporting business objectives.
  • Enthusiastic about leveraging AI and automation to improve HR processes and efficiency.

Desirable:

  • L3 or above CIPD or relevant qualification
  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Full driving license
