Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across a wide range of HR matters.
  • Support managers with employee relations issues including absence management, performance management, disciplinary, grievance, probation and flexible working cases.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all pre-employment checks and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Prepare HR documentation including contracts, amendments, letters and employment-related correspondence.
  • Coordinate monthly payroll by validating employee data, reviewing reports and acting as the first point of contact for payroll queries with the outsourced payroll provider.
  • Administer employee benefits and support wider HR administration activities.
  • Produce HR reports and management information, identifying trends and supporting decision-making.
  • Support Occupational Health referrals, wellbeing initiatives and absence management processes.
  • Assist with policy implementation, compliance and employment legislation updates.
  • Support organisational change initiatives including consultations, restructures and TUPE activity where required.
  • Build strong working relationships with managers across multiple sites, providing pragmatic and commercially focused HR support.
  • Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the wider HR function.

About You:

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience working as an HR Advisor, HR Officer or within a similar generalist HR role.
  • Experience supporting managers on a broad range of employee relations matters.
  • Exposure to payroll coordination, payroll checking or payroll administration.
  • Experience working within manufacturing, engineering, logistics, utilities, facilities management, construction, production, waste, energy or another operational environment.
  • Experience using HR information systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to build credible relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach.

A CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential.

  • Flexible working environment.
  • Ongoing learning and career development opportunities.
  • The opportunity to join a collaborative HR team supporting a growing UK business.
