Paralegal (Commercial Property), Real Estate & Projects | London

We’re delighted to be working with a leading London law firm, with roots dating back to 1841, to recruit a Commercial Property Paralegal for their busy Real Estate & Projects team.

Recognised in Legal 500 and Chambers UK, the firm’s Real Estate practice sits at the heart of its business, with 18 dedicated partners acting on everything from single-unit sites to large-scale developments, portfolio acquisitions and disposals, for clients ranging from registered providers of social housing and care homes through to private developers.

Salary: up to £30,000 (DOE)

Location: London, Hybrid (4 days in office)

Reporting to: Partner

Experience: 1 to 2 years in a similar role with solid drafting skills

The role

You’ll gain excellent exposure to a broad range of property work in a friendly, high-performing team. Day to day, you’ll:

  • Assist on commercial property matters including sales, purchases, leasing, asset management, title and due diligence
  • Prepare contract packs, obtaining Land Registry documents, drafting CPSE and collating client documents
  • Set up and maintain online data rooms and provide clients with regular progress reports
  • Carry out searches, prepare and swear statutory notices and declarations, and assist with title reports
  • Obtain consent certificates and insurance quotes for title and search defects
  • Support fee earners with post-exchange requirements, HMLR registrations, priority searches and SDLT forms
  • Carry out legal research and assist with the initial stages of drafting

What we’re looking for

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar role with solid drafting skills
  • A degree in Law or equivalent (or appropriate conversion)
  • Methodical approach with strong attention to detail
  • Confident across MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Client-focused with an approachable manner and excellent communication skills
  • Experience with commercial property and/or leases is an advantage
