Interim Employee Relations Lead (Fixed-Term Contract)

HW Interim Solutions are partnering with an international, high-growth organisation to appoint an Interim Employee Relations Lead on a fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative People team within a fast-paced business where you’ll take ownership of a broad range of complex employee relations matters, partnering with leaders to deliver commercially sound, pragmatic people solutions.

Operating as the organisation’s Employee Relations specialist, you’ll provide expert advice across a varied international workforce, balancing business objectives with a fair, consistent and compliant approach.

The Role

Working closely with senior stakeholders and the wider People team, you’ll lead on complex employee relations activity, support organisational change, provide guidance on employment legislation and help ensure people practices continue to evolve as the business grows.

This is a hands-on role that combines technical expertise with strong stakeholder management, requiring someone who can build credibility quickly and operate confidently within a changing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a wide range of complex employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and performance cases.
  • Provide practical, commercially focused advice to managers on people issues and employment legislation.
  • Support business change activity, helping leaders navigate people-related challenges effectively.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure consistent application of policies, processes and employment practices.
  • Coach and support managers in handling employee relations matters confidently and effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen policies, processes and manager capability.
  • Monitor emerging trends and risks, using insight to inform continuous improvement across the People function.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, acting as a credible adviser on employee relations matters.

About You

We’re interested in speaking with experienced Employee Relations professionals who enjoy operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Significant experience managing complex employee relations within a large or international organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation, with exposure to supporting colleagues across multiple locations an advantage.
  • Excellent investigation, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to influence and coach managers through sensitive and often complex situations.
  • A pragmatic, commercially minded approach with sound judgement and attention to detail.
  • The confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider People team.

This opportunity is offered on a fixed-term contract and would suit an experienced Employee Relations specialist looking to make an immediate impact within a dynamic international business.
