Maths Teacher Role in a Faith Secondary School

A highly respected Faith Secondary School in Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Teacher to join its successful Mathematics department from September. About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students’ confidence, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

Students follow a carefully sequenced curriculum covering algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, and mathematical modelling, with opportunities to study A-Level Mathematics in the sixth form. You will inspire students to become resilient mathematicians, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed for further study and future careers.

You will also contribute to intervention programmes, curriculum development, and enrichment activities including maths clubs, STEM initiatives, competitions, and university preparation events.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5

  • Deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations

  • Develop students’ mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills

  • Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

  • Support STEM initiatives, intervention programmes, and enrichment activities

  • Promote a positive attitude towards mathematics and lifelong learning

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics

  • Experience contributing to STEM or mathematics enrichment programmes

  • Ability to support intervention strategies that raise attainment

  • A proven track record of securing excellent student outcomes
