What you’ll do as a Systems Engineer

n

• nDevelopment of Requirements and Test Plansn

n

• nControl of Parts and Documentation, including change managementn

n

• nCollaboration with multi-functional teams on system and sub-system developmentn

n

• nWork with suppliers, integrators, and users across the UKn

nn

Our Systems Engineers work in multidisciplinary teams spanning a range of activities pulling together the necessary engineering and technology strands into a high-performance system, bridging the gap between the theoretically possible and the practically implementable.

• nEarly concept studies investigating the application of new technology on future platformsn

• nEngaging with stakeholders, defining requirements for a new systemn

• nConducting cost and functional performance trade-offs and evaluation of proposed solutionsn

• nDesigning and integrating new functionality into an existing systemn

• nModelling a system to understand observed simulated performancen

• nDevelopment of capability within limitations and constraints of the target hardwaren

• nRoot-cause analysis of anomalies observed during integration or evaluation activitiesn

• nDesigning and conducting testing and trials to prove equipment function and performancen

What you’ll bring

• nA science-based Honours degree or equivalent experiencen

n

• nExperience or a desire to gain electronic warfare domain knowledgen

n

• nKnowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle, particularly in the following areas:n

  • nProblem definitionn

  • nRequirements engineering, including the use of IBM DOORSn

  n

  • nSystems Architecturen

  n

  • nSynthetic Environmentsn

  • nSystems Modelling and Analysisn

  • nIntegrationn

  • nModel Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)n

It would be desirable if you had experience from some of the following:

• nExperience of working with related specialisms such as safety, security, airworthiness or reliabilityn

Salary Range:

• Senior Engineer £45,000 to £58,000

Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework with broad bands. The salary range shown reflects the approved grade band for this role, or a narrower hiring range published within that band, and is benchmarked against the external market. Exceptions above the standard range are managed through governance controls to protect internal equity.
