The Opportunity

Our Cyber underwriting offering is a strategic priority for QBE, with notable growth achieved to date and exciting plans to continue this.We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cyber Underwriter to join our regional team based in Manchester.This post focuses on new and existing business across a broad range of clients. It’s broker facing and provides a brilliant opportunity to truly develop the portfolio and build out new business opportunities.

Your new role

  • Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the Business Plan and the personal authority to meet business objectives

Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues, to maximise influenceDevelop relationships in line with the Business Plan to support the achievement of business objectivesUnderstand and comply with QBE reinsurance strategy to minimise risk and deliver business plan objectivesParticipate fully and use your expertise to shape and develop strategy, knowledge and best practicePositively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximise brand leverageComply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are metAdhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiencyActively keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness to be able to operate effectively and appropriately

Strong understanding of profit drivers and strategic decision-making to support long-term growth

  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills

Ability to lead by example, influence others, and negotiate effectivelyProficiency in Excel and underwriting tools, with the ability to analyse data and modelled results.
