Associate Research Analyst – Emerging Market Debt
Based in London, England, you will support corporate bond investment decisions within Columbia Threadneedle’s Emerging Market Debt team.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth sector and security analysis.
- Analyze and integrate industry trends into actionable recommendations, gathering relevant data as appropriate.
- Identify and develop data management tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the investment process.
- Contribute to team discussions focused on investment performance and process.
- Collaborate closely with EM sovereign analysts to frame corporate recommendations in country context.
- Contribute to larger firm conversations about investments, working with other fixed income and asset classes.
- Interact with issuers and dealers, attending meetings and conferences as needed.
- Appropriately monitor existing holdings for performance.
- Help manage independent and group research projects.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree.
- Passion for Emerging Market Debt and the investment management industry.
- Strong work ethic, integrity and dedication to being part of a successful team.
- Ability to use a mix of quantitative and qualitative data to arrive at conclusions and make portfolio recommendations.
- Communication and relationship‑building skills to appropriately influence and share ideas with others.
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior relevant experience.
- Ability to scrub and query data from database systems using SQL.
- Experience with any of: Python, SQL, AWS.
