Overview

The Beardwood Hospital is part of the Circle Health Group, Britain’s leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals and clinics. The hospital performs more complex surgery than any other private health‑care provider in the country. It has three theatres, a minor operating facility, a digital imaging suite including MRI and CT, 10 consultation rooms, 18 in‑patient beds, a 6‑bedded day‑case suite and an ambulatory treatment unit. Beardwood Hospital is well‑established and continues a trajectory of growth, creating the need for a dedicated full‑time Executive Director to take the business to the next level.

Qualifications

  • Degree level education, post‑graduate qualifications, or equivalent.
  • Clear understanding of current health‑industry issues and knowledge of health funding in private and public sectors, and working knowledge of statutory regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to establish operational and capital budgets that reflect organisational goals, strategies and emerging commercial opportunities.
  • Sound financial skills – able to read and interpret financial data and aware of regulatory requirements in healthcare.
  • Risk‑management skills.
  • Excellent HR management skills including recruitment, selection and retention.
  • Proven leadership and strategic‑planning abilities within a commercial or health‑care environment.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading change in a commercial or health‑care environment, motivating people into teams and fostering a positive, challenging culture that meets both internal and external customer expectations.
  • Previous healthcare experience in a senior management position.
  • Formal leadership qualifications, including participation on the Circle Health Group Registered Manager Programme, are desirable.

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the hospital and its management team, acting as role model, mentor and coach.
  • Ensure safe, effective, caring and responsive patient care in a high‑quality clinical environment that maximises financial and operational performance.
  • Ensure all appropriate measures are taken to maintain, promote and safeguard the well‑being and interests of patients, employees and visitors.
