About the Role
Network Manager is a senior member of the IT team, responsible for the ownership, development and day‑to‑day management of the school’s technical infrastructure. Working closely with the Director of Digital Strategy and IT, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer, IT Support Engineers and other colleagues, the Network Manager will ensure the delivery of robust, secure and high‑performing IT services that support teaching, learning and the school’s wider operations.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the school’s networking infrastructure
- Plan, design and implement network solutions that meet current and future needs
- Oversee day‑to‑day network operations ensuring high availability and performance
- Collaborate with IT support teams to resolve network incidents and outages
- Coordinate network upgrades and migrations with minimal disruption to users
- Maintain documentation of network configurations and procedures
- Ensure compliance with security and data protection standards
- Provide guidance and support to staff regarding network usage and best practices
Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in networking, systems or equivalent
- Proven experience managing complex network environments, ideally in education or charitable sectors
- In‑depth knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs and network security
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively

Working Hours
