Emergency Response Security Officer
Mitie Security Ltd are recruiting Emergency Response Security Officers to work at our site based in Derby on the Rolls‑Royce contract. This is a dual role of both emergency response and security duties. It is essential that applicants are able to cover 12‑hour shifts days and nights.
Hourly rate: £13.49 PH
Main duties
- Respond to automatic fire alarms
- Security incidents and medical response
- Provide emergency medical care until the arrival of external emergency services
- Carry out maintenance and testing of Fire Extinguishers where trained
- Carry out weekly checks on Automatic Fire Alarm Systems, Intruder Detection Systems, Panic Alarms, Refuge Alarms and Lift Alarms and record on appropriate report form
- Carry out weekly sprinkler set and Sprinkler pump testing and record on insurance sprinkler test cards
- Carry out monthly checks on site Interceptors, Fire Doors, Evacuation call points and record on appropriate report form
- Carry out annual tests of fire hydrants and record on appropriate report form
- Carry out daily vehicle checks ensuring that all equipment is serviceable and in good condition, report if any defects are found
- Ensure that all equipment carried on emergency vehicles is checked using vehicle inventory
- Monitor the standards of compliance and behaviours by Security Personnel against protocols, identifying performance standards, both good and bad
Qualifications
- Person Specification
- Ongoing training and development
- Pass all required security and background checks, including previous 5‑year employment history
- Professional approach: courteous and professional at all times
- Take pride in personal appearance
- Frontline SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence
- Hold Full UK Manual Car Driving Licence
