Job Summary
As the Brakes NVH Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the brake Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) attribute across Aston Martin’s vehicle portfolio. You will ensure our vehicles deliver the premium refinement and quality expected of the Aston Martin brand, taking ownership of brake NVH performance throughout the full vehicle development cycle and driving engineering solutions across multiple programmes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the brake NVH attribute across the vehicle portfolio, ensuring premium refinement and quality.
- Define targets, identify issues, lead investigations and drive robust engineering solutions for brake NVH.
- Manage brake NVH performance throughout the full vehicle development cycle.
- Conduct technical investigations into issues such as squeal, judder, groan and creep groan using structured engineering methodologies (8D, DMAIC, root cause analysis).
- Collaborate with Vehicle NVH, Chassis Engineering, Vehicle Integration, CAE and Test & Development teams to align brake system performance with overall vehicle attribute objectives.
- Plan, execute and interpret vehicle, rig and climatic test activities; correlate and predict performance with simulation teams.
- Support development of brake system components – pads, discs, calipers, actuation systems.
- Work directly with suppliers and engineering partners to clearly define, understand and deliver technical requirements from concept through to production.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience in brake systems and NVH engineering within the automotive sector.
- Strong knowledge of brake NVH phenomena and vehicle attribute development.
- Experience with structured problem‑solving techniques such as 8D, DMAIC and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with NVH measurement and analysis tools, e.g. Head Acoustics, LINK and MATLAB.
- Experience conducting and interpreting development and validation testing.
- Strong technical presentation and reporting skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
